On Tuesday, May 19, 2009, in Atlanta, Georgia, Megan N. Gates, a member in the Corporate practice and co-chair of the Securities practice group, and Joel I. Papernik, a member in the Corporate practice and co-chair of the Mergers and Acquisitions practice, will moderate panels at the 2009 BIO International Convention sponsored by Mintz Levin. Gates will lead a panel on "What to Say, When and How - Navigating the Regulatory Minefield" and Papernik will moderate panelists as they discuss "Biotech M&A - How to Sell Your Company in an Environment of Consolidation."
Papernik's panel will discuss the different types of M&A biotech transactions, the risks involved, and ways in which target companies can successfully navigate through the acquisition process. Meanwhile, Gates will moderate a panel of life sciences industry experts as they discuss their experiences and share suggestions for the best practices in navigating disclosure issues, including massive stock price declines, EMEA, FDA and SEC investigations, and angry stockholders and employees.
