Susan Kealy will be speaking at a Boston Tax Institute seminar on Basic Estate Planning for Accountants & Their Clients. The one-day program will cover the essentials of estate planning, including the effect of different forms of property ownership; the probate process and how to avoid it; wills, trusts in estate plans, powers of appointment, choice of trustee, general tax impact, and trustee liability; using trustee certificates to transfer real estate; homestead protection, property tax exemptions, and trusts; durable powers of attorney; living wills and health care proxies; nominee realty trusts; and basic federal and state estate tax planning considerations (the gift tax annual exclusion and marital deduction); changes made by recent tax legislation; and much more. This seminar will be held on June 13, 2011, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, in Waltham, Massachusetts.
