Boston, MA.– Daria Niewenhous, a Member in the Health Law practice of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, PC, has been named to Nightingale’s 2008 list of Outstanding Hospital Lawyers.
Ms. Niewenhous, who practices in the firm’s Boston office, represents a variety of healthcare clients, including health systems and hospitals, nursing homes, home care providers, assisted living facilities, emergency medical transport providers, clinics, clinical laboratories, and sole and group practitioners. She advises clients in areas such as general corporate matters, fraud and abuse, risk management, contract negotiation, regulatory matters, licensing and certification issues, medical staff issues, and general and HIPAA compliance. Ms. Niewenhous also represents individuals before professional licensing boards, including the Boards of Registration in Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy.

Prior to rejoining Mintz Levin in 2001, Ms. Niewenhous served as Vice President of Legal Services at Lahey Clinic, a physician-led nonprofit group practice that operates Lahey Clinic Medical Center, a tertiary care teaching hospital and ambulatory care center with facilities in Burlington and Peabody, Massachusetts.
Daria is admitted to practice in Massachusetts. She received her B.A., summa cum laude, from Salem State College, and earned her M.A. from Villanova University. Daria was awarded her J.D., cum laude, from New England School of Law.
