Mintz Levin Attorney Carl A. Kukkonen Named to CONNECT Board of Directors

San Diego, CACarl A. Kukkonen, III, a San Diego-based member of Mintz Levin Cohn Ferris Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., has been named to the CONNECT board of directors.  CONNECT is a regional non-profit organization with member support from the research community, the private sector and government that serves to educate the San Diego region on how to commercialize local research-based discoveries.

Recognized as a leader in the legal and the local technology community, Mr. Kukkonen joins a board that includes successful entrepreneurs, internationally respected and regarded innovators and highly sought after executives.  

Mr. Kukkonen is a founding partner of Mintz Levin's San Diego office where he counsels clients on significant intellectual property issues that serve to protect companies' most valuable assets including patent infringement and validity, preparation and prosecution of patent applications, trademark protection and enforcement, licensing, and due diligence studies.  The breadth of his technical expertise allows him to become a trusted advisor to companies ranging in size from pre-funded startups to large multinationals in fields such as software / electronics, medical devices, and cleantech. 

In addition to his work with CONNECT, Mr. Kukkonen is a member of the board of CleanTECH San Diego which is a non-profit membership organization formed to accelerate San Diego as a world leader in the clean technology economy.  His dedication to fostering a local technology community is also demonstrated by his board participation with the MIT Enterprise Forum, which serves as "the global voice of entrepreneurship" as a platform for entrepreneurial networking, inspiration and education in San Diego.
