New York, NY – Jonathan A. Ballan, has been appointed Chairman of the Finance Subcommittee of the Rob Astorino Transition Committee. Mr. Astorino was recently elected County Executive for Westchester County, New York, beating long-time incumbent Andrew Spano in a landslide in the November election. The transition's Finance Subcommittee will analyze the county finance department, its programs and lay personnel.
Mr. Ballan is head of Mintz Levin's New York Public Finance Section, where his practice involves municipal finance, public authority finance, economic development, project finance and privatization. Mr. Ballan has broad experience developing innovative legal structures for numerous state and local bond issuers and investment bankers. He previously served as Chairman of the Municipal Assistance Corporation for the State of New York, the New York Public Asset Fund and the Finance Committee of the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation.
Mr. Ballan earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from Williams College, and his J.D. from the George Washington University National Law Center.
