New York, NY – Mintz Levin Cohn Ferris Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. today announced that Brian Platton, a seasoned health care attorney with more than 25 years of experience, has joined the firm's New York office as a Member in the Health Law Practice. Before joining Mintz Levin, Mr. Platton was an Equity Partner at Epstein Becker & Green, where he practiced in the Health Care and Life Sciences and Business practices.
Mr. Platton is a transactional lawyer well known for his legal expertise in matters affecting the New York health care industry. Throughout his career, he has represented managed care companies and other insurers, academic medical centers, hospital systems, physician practices, third party administrators, venture capital and private equity funds, pharmaceutical manufacturers, life sciences companies, information technology companies, and other health care and non-health care business entities. His experience includes mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, financings, investments, licensing, government structure and relationships, marketing arrangements, services arrangements, outsourcing, and other contracting.

Mr. Platton has served on panels presented by the Practicing Law Institute, the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, and other organizations. He earned his B.A. from the State University of New York and his J.D. from New York Law School, where he served as the Executive Editor of The Journal of International and Comparative Law. Mr. Platton is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and he is a member of the New York State Bar. In 2007, he was named an "Outstanding Healthcare Transaction Lawyer" by Nightingale's Healthcare News.
