Mintz Levin Expands Corporate & Securities Section with Addition of William C. Hicks

Boston, MA – Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. announced that William C. Hicks, who was most recently a partner in the business law practice at Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge, has joined as a member in the firm’s Corporate & Securities Section. Mr. Hicks is returning to Mintz Levin after practicing as an associate with the firm ten years ago.

Throughout his career, Mr. Hicks has provided counsel on a variety of corporate and securities law matters, including underwritten public offerings, registered directs (RDs), confidentially marketed public offerings (CMPOs), private investments in public equity (PIPEs), private placements, venture capital investments, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and ongoing reporting obligations.

"Bill’s expertise handling various unconventional financing structures, including a number of CMPO, RD and PIPE transactions across multiple industries, makes him a valuable asset as the firm continues to grow this specialty within the Corporate and Securities practice,” said Peter Demuth, Chair of the firm’s Corporate and Securities Section. “He is joining a group of outstanding corporate and finance attorneys and we look forward to seeing the contributions his experience will bring to the Section.”

Mr. Hicks’s range of experience includes the representation of investment banks, investors, issuers and venture capital firms as well as clients in the life sciences and telecommunications industries.  He has also provided cross-border counsel to foreign companies in Europe, North America, South Asia and other emerging markets.

Mr. Hicks is a frequent speaker on topics concerning various SEC regulatory issues and he contributes articles on these topics to various industry publications.

He received his bachelor’s degree from Yale University, his M.A. from King’s College London and his J.D. from the University of Southern California Law School.
