Boston, MA – The Corporate and Securities Practice of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C. advised GI Dynamics, Inc. on its Australian initial public offering and contemporaneous U.S. private placement.
GI Dynamics (ASX:GID), a Lexington, Massachusetts medical device company, raised approximately $85 million through its successful offers. The company will use the funds to expand the global commercialization of its flagship product, the EndoBarrier® Gastrointestinal Liner. The EndoBarrier presents a unique non-surgical alternative for reducing blood glucose levels and effecting weight loss in diabetic and obese patients, a large, underserved and growing global patient population.
The company’s CHESS Depositary Interests (CDIs commenced trading on September 7, 2011 on the Australian Securities Exchange under the stock symbol “GID”). Each CDI represents an interest in one-fifth of a share of GI Dynamics common stock.
