Mintz Levin Represents OSI Pharmaceuticals in the Acquisition of Eyetech Pharmaceuticals

Mintz Levin Members Joel Papernik and Blaine Templeman co-lead the transaction team for OSI Pharmaceuticals Inc., which announced on August 21, 2005, that they are acquiring Eyetech Pharmaceuticals in a cash-and-stock deal valued at $935 million. The acquisition is subject to a number of closing conditions, including Eyetech stockholder approval and regulatory approvals, and the parties expect to close the transaction by the end of 2005. The combined company will be the tenth largest biotechnology company in the world and will focus on oncology, eye diseases and diabetes.
