Experienced Corporate Finance Solicitor Lena Hodge Joins Firm as Of Counsel
London, England - Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky, and Popeo, LLP announced it has expanded its Business and Finance practice in London with the addition of Lena Hodge, an experienced solicitor with an extensive background in corporate finance transactions, who joins the firm as Of Counsel and Head of Corporate Finance in London.
Ms. Hodge has significant experience working with investment banks and shall be embarking on transactions involving the listing of special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs) on to AIM. SPACs have been used in the United States for many years, but only recently have begun to take hold in Europe. In the U.S., Mintz Levin's Business and Finance practice is deeply experienced in this complex area, having advised clients on numerous SPAC deals as well as scores of other transactions involving public and private equity and debt security financings, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances as well as venture capital financings, among others.
"Mintz Levin has a premier corporate finance practice with a long track record representing investors, underwriters and issuers of securities accessing capital through public and private investment sources," said Peter F. Demuth, Chairman of the firm's Business and Finance Section. "As the firm continues to expand its practice in this area and its presence in London, we are pleased to welcome Lena to the Business and Finance section. Her outstanding background and depth of expertise will contribute to our continued growth and success."
Ms. Hodge has previously been a corporate partner at Rosenblatt, where she was responsible for the day-to-day management of the corporate department. Over the course of her career, she has provided transactional corporate advice in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity funding arrangements, public company work, and other forms of corporate strategic alliances. She has advised venture capital and private equity investors, financial advisors, issuers, shareholders, commercial banks and public and private companies in various industry sectors.
"I am particularly pleased to be joining Mintz Levin's corporate practice and to be working with a group of attorneys who are held in such high regard within the financial community," added Ms. Hodge. "As we see more and more AIMSPAC deals here in the U.K., there is increasing need for international expertise in this area such as the corporate team at Mintz Levin provides."
