State-Of-The-Art Financing Techniques

Mintz Levin has experience with a wide range of financing techniques, including variable rate, Dutch auction and multimodal debt structures, capital accretion bonds and other types of discount debt, current refundings and advance refundings of various kinds, interest rate swaps, inverse floaters, embedded caps, structured yield curve notes, and other derivative products and commercial paper programs. Our practice is characterized by a relatively high degree of involvement with state-of-the-art products and innovative applications of corporate finance techniques to the municipal market. We have worked with the nation's most prominent banking firms on many of the successful, specially named, trademark-protected variations on the theme of variable rate and capital appreciation bonds, including securities that are issued in conjunction with variable rate debt to achieve all-inclusive fixed rate costs.

We are also experienced in interest rate swaps and other derivative products. We have handled derivative transactions for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, state authorities, municipalities, and major colleges and hospitals. We have served on both sides of such transactions and have worked with clients to develop competitive bid procedures in this market.
