Preserving Permanent Resident Status

The firm frequently advises clients regarding the proactive steps they can take to preserve their permanent resident (green card) status when they leave the United States and reside overseas for work or family reasons. Frequently this involves filing for a reentry permit to obtain the maximum protection available. We also frequently file applications to preserve our clients' residency for naturalization purposes. Occasionally we assist clients in divesting themselves of permanent resident status for tax or business reasons.
