Narges has significant experience in commercial business litigation, securities litigation, white collar criminal defense, and domestic and international arbitration. She has represented clients at the administrative, trial, and appellate levels.

She is also committed to promoting social justice and human rights on behalf of unrepresented and marginalized individuals. She has assisted clients from Pakistan, Cameroon, Burma, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo obtain asylum, and has worked on behalf of victims of domestic violence to obtain Orders of Protection. Narges is a member of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee, and coordinates the pro bono practice of the New York office.

Representative Matters

  • Obtained an arbitration award of over $100 million on behalf of bondholders in an international arbitration involving complex breach of contract and corporate veil-piercing issues
  • Obtained dismissal on behalf of a multinational bank of all claims in an action alleging violations of the Anti-Terrorism Act and Alien Tort Claims Act
  • Represented bondholders’ interests in multinational litigations involving issues of fraud, accounting malpractice, breaches of duties by corporate officers and directors (including audit-committee members), and breaches of the Trust Indenture Act
  • Successfully defended a corporation in an SEC action involving allegations of securities fraud
  • Successfully defended the corporate officer of a multinational commercial bank in a civil action involving securities fraud, market manipulation, and breaches of fiduciary duty
  • Obtained summary judgment dismissing all claims against an art museum that was sued for conversion of antiquities allegedly misappropriated approximately 100 years ago
