Patricia counsels clients on a variety of employee benefits and compensation matters. Notably, Patricia represents clients in a board variety of health and welfare plan matters, including the Affordable Care Act’s employer and insurance mandates, the Massachusetts “Fair Share” employer mandate, COBRA, HIPAA, wellness, and mental health parity. Patricia has represented clients in multiple audits and examinations initiated by government agencies with respect to health and welfare plan matters, including the Massachusetts Department of Unemployment Assistance (relating to Massachusetts health care reform). Patricia works with clients in a variety of sectors, including staffing, home health, restaurant, hospitality, consulting, finance, technology and education.
In addition to her health and welfare plan experience, Patricia counsels clients on retirement plan matters, including 401(k) and 403(b) plan compliance.
Patricia has a broad base of employee benefits–related experience. She has worked with the US Department of Labor Employee Benefits Security Administration investigating private sector employers and venture capital funds with respect to ERISA compliance. She has practiced in the employee benefits departments of two prominent New York City law firms, working primarily on corporate transactions, structured finance, and executive compensation. She has also collaborated with the Harvard School of Public Health on various health policy research projects. Patricia frequently writes and speaks on a variety of employee benefits related matters.
During law school, she was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and the Syracuse Law Review. Patricia was recently selected to participate in the Boston Chamber of Commerce’s Future Leaders Program.
