In 2000, the filing thresholds of the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act for mergers and acquisitions were adjusted for the first time since the HSR requirements were enacted in 1976. At the same time Congress required the Federal Trade Commission to adjust the thresholds annually for inflation.
Today, the FTC announced the first of these annual adjustments. These new thresholds, which will be effective 30 days after they are formally published in the Federal Register in the next few days, can be viewed here.
