Business Memorandum: Tougher Export Controls on Chemical and Biological Materials and Technologies from June Meeting of Australia Group

In reponse to growing worldwide concerns surrounding the potential for the proliferation of chemical and biological weapons, the Australia Group agreed at its annual meeting to adopt tougher export controls aimed at preventing the spread of chemical and biological weapons (CBW).  It is likely that the new Guidelines will be adopted by the Bureau of Industry and Security of the U.S. Department of Commerce as further export controls on chemical and biological materials and technology.
