Energy & Clean Tech Connections September 2011

9/29/2011

In the September edition of Energy & Clean Tech Connections, we’ve gathered recent information from a wide variety of sources in an effort to keep you abreast of what’s new in the world of clean energy. We draw your attention to the latest industry developments, news from local governments to Capitol Hill, grant opportunities, and upcoming events.

This month, the Energy & Clean Technology Practice Group would like to congratulate our client, Terrabon, Inc., for being voted the Most Transformative Technology of 2011 by the readers of Biofuels Digest for its MixAlco® biofuel technology. MixAlco® is a technology solution that addresses challenges in both the biofuel production and water treatment industries, minimizing the need to use other natural resources. It also allows environmental services companies to rethink the supply chain for their services and provide more flexibility and reduced costs for their companies while meeting the policy requirements associated with the Renewable Fuel Standard.

On Capitol Hill, President Obama released the text of his American Jobs Act of 2011 earlier this month. Under the proposed legislation, energy and water projects could be eligible for loans and loan guarantees through an initial appropriation through an American Infrastructure Financing Authority.

In upcoming events, the Northeast Biomass Conference & Trade Show, an event to connect current and future producers of biomass-derived energy with waste generators, growers, utility executives, investors and policy makers, will take place in Pittsburgh on October 11-13. In Dallas, Solar Power International 2011, a premier business-to-business event designed to advance the solar power industry will take place October 17-20. The Networked EV 2011, a conference dedicated to the intersection of electric vehicles and smart grids, will take place on October 20 in San Francisco.

We hope that you enjoy this month’s edition of the newsletter. For the most up-to-date information on federal legislation and programs, read the most recent ML Strategies Energy & Environment Update and check back for weekly updates.
